Ocimum basilicum
A type of Genovese or sweet Italian basil that is more cold tolerant than most other basils. Our thanks to the Seeds Trust for introducing us to this amazing variety that comes from the moutains of Northern Italy. It is slow to bolt and has a sweet rich flavor and aroma making it great for caprese salad, pesto, or whatever your heart desires. We have seen it remain green and healthy after other Genovese types have turned black when the season turns cooler.
